Rosemary oil is a psychic protector, and as such it is particularly useful to use first thing in the morning before exposing oneself to all the external influences, both those of which we may be aware and possibly fearful and those of which we are not aware but may encounter in daily life. It is particularly appropriate to use Rosemary in the morning because at a physical level it is a stimulant and to use this oil later in the day may result in sleeplessness.
The oil can also be used for protection in houses, etc. Use it in a burner or vaporizer.
This is one of the plants that was used in mediaeval Europe to drive out evil spirits from places or persons. Dried sprigs of the herb were burnt, and you might like to use it in this way as an alternative to the essential oil.
In relation to the chakras, Rosemary is particularly relevant to the Brow Chakra. In physical aromatherapy it is known as a cephalic oil, in other words, one which stimulates the brain and mental activity.
At a subtle level Rosemary is associated with qualities of clear thought and clear-sightedness, and may be helpful wherever there is a need for clarity. At the most subtle level it may help the development of clairvoyance.
CAUTION: This oil must not be used by anybody suffering from epilepsy or high blood pressure. It should not be used late in the day as it will cause sleeplessness. Do not use during pregnancy.
