The perfume of the warrior poet
Tasneem is the name of a spring in paradise of which this perfume is just an emanation. In effect, the perfumes offered to us by nature in this world are only a manifestation from those of the life beyond.
Tasneem is essentially a feminine fragrance, however many men do not disdain flowery scents. This is especially true of Muslims, for whom Tasneem was designed. Better known in the west for their warrior-like nature rather than for their gentle side, it is little known that the poet warrior is, in the Islamic culture, the example of the “Universal man”. Also forgotten, is that the prophet Muhammad taught his disciples that the best among them was he who was gentler with his family, with the poor and with the guests. A quality that this community has preserved up to this days.
The base of this composition is Ylang Ylang, a flower found in the Indian Ocean whose name means “Flower of flowers”. The tree of the Ylang Ylang is cultivated in large areas and produces beautiful white yellow flowers whose intoxicating and invigorating perfume reaches sailors on the sea even before they see land. It is a highly valued essence both in perfumery for the power of it’s delicate flowery note, and in aromatherapy for it’s action on the nervous system in all symptoms derived from stress, such as hypertension, tachycardia and sleeplessness.
From time immemorial the natives of the islands have used the flowers of Ylang ylang to treat their hair. In fact, this flower is the main ingredient of the famed Macassar oil.
In the composition of Tasneem, the almondy background of the second part of the distillation of the flower (Ylang n° 2) has been reinforced with the amberoid aroma of Tonka bean and made even more deliciously sensual with the absolute of Vanilla.
Ylang Ylang essence has an hormonal effect and is used in aromatherapy for the cure of many feminine problems. The addition in this composition of others hormone regulating essences (such as Sage and Cypress) has the double effect of completing it’s equilibrating action on the female body and of tempering it’s extreme sweetness. The final touch of the precious Egyptian Jasmine crowns this perfume with a rich, opulent and luxurious “heart note” transforming it into an olfactory apotheosis.
For the reason of it’s impact on the feminine system, Tasneem is a sweet fragrance which appeals to women who don’t usually like them, and for the sweetness of it’s aroma it is liked by men who possess in life the noble qualities of kindness and of self control.
