Peru balsam bark extrusion resin, too thick to pour easily, from El Salvador.
Myroxylon peruiferum L. F., Family: Leguminosae (Papillionaceae). Class: Benzoic Esters.
This resin has a complex aroma consisting chiefly of cinnamon and vanilla notes with a slight floral character. It has warm, mellow and somewhat spicy aroma.
Actions: stimulant, expectorant, antiseptic, parasiticide.
Indications: used to treat catarrh and chronic bronchitis by lessening mucous secretions; diarrhoea and externally for wounds, ulcers, pruritis, nappy rash, sore nipples, eczema and ringworm. Coronary stimulant.
Cautions: can cause an allergic reaction in some individuals
